Save Mount Diablo’s Annual Report: 2018-2019

Our hearts sing out gratitude to all of you who helped us successfully protect more of the precious remaining natural places of the Mount Diablo area and connect our community to them this past fiscal year. Save Mount Diablo changed from a calendar year to an April 1st-March 31st fiscal year-end. Therefore, this information is for the transitional 15-month budget cycle between January 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019. *Numbers are based on unaudited January 1, 2018-March 31, 2019 financials. BioBlitz Research Results Are In!

In 2019, Save Mount Diablo’s Annual BioBlitz was held from Friday, May 3 to Saturday, May 4 at Save Mount Diablo’s own Mangini Ranch and the City of Walnut Creek’s Lime Ridge Open Space. There were 36 scientists and researchers at the event. In total, 349 species were found: two amphibian species, five arachnid species, 76 bird species, one chilopoda species, two fungal species, 156 insect species, six mammal species, 96 plant species, and five reptile species.
