The 2024 Four Days Diablo camping trip was an immersive adventure through the hidden landscapes around Mount Diablo.
Thank you to the participants, volunteers, and staff who came together to make this event one of the best we remember!
Offering a unique blend of rugged exploration and luxury, the journey took participants through locations like Save Mount Diablo’s expansive Curry Canyon Ranch and along the picturesque 31-mile Diablo Trail, linking six regional parks from Walnut Creek to Livermore.

Each day, while participants delved into the natural and human history of the area firsthand, our dedicated crew of staff and volunteers managed gear and set up the next campsite.
Gourmet meals crafted by talented chefs, including one from the esteemed East Bay restaurant, Postino, awaited weary hikers each evening.
On the first night, Save Mount Diablo Land Conservation Director Sean Burke shared stories about the area’s cultural pre-history and the people who lived with Mount Diablo. On the second night, the hikers were entertained by the music of Blue Eyed Grass.

As participants trekked, they encountered breathtaking scenery, from sparkling streams to majestic mountain peaks and rocky formations. Wildlife sightings, including eagles and falcons, added to the sense of wonder.
Despite being just an hour’s drive from a bustling metropolis of more than 7 million people, the route traversed only two paved roads, offering a true escape into the upper Diablo Range.
