Save Mount Diablo and Branching Out Adventures are partnering up to invite all members of the LGBTQIA+ community on this queer themed hike! Allies are welcome to attend with their LGBTQIA+ community members. Check out Branching Out Adventures’ website for more information about the organization and their other upcoming events: Branching Out Adventures.
Queerness is everywhere in our natural world. Join us on a nature walk in Mitchell Canyon to learn about the queer plants and animals found on Mount Diablo. We’ll also be on the lookout for the gentle giants of Mount Diablo, the North American tarantulas, and another one of Mount Diablo’s arachnids – scorpions!
Be sure to bring plenty of water and a snack, and dress in layers. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended. Heavy rain cancels. Restrooms are available at the parking lot.
