AGE REQUIREMENT: 12+ years old
Come explore the magical trails from Smith Canyon into Mount Diablo’s beautiful Curry Canyon via mountain bike. Enjoy gorgeous views and the feeling of wildness as we travel alone in this breathtaking preserve. The sites we’ll visit are some of Save Mount Diablo’s most important conserved lands. Save Mount Diablo is now working to connect these lands (Smith Canyon, Curry Canyon Lower 200, and Upper 560) into Mount Diablo State Park to create a beautiful loop and what could become the eastern entrance into Mount Diablo State Park.
Because of the very serious environmental issues like the climate crisis and mass species extinction event underway, we at Save Mount Diablo have been trying to respectfully reach more groups of people and invite them into our conservation tent so that we can build more momentum, and appreciation, for conservation. We desperately need more types of people on the side of conservation, not less. For example, with our free Discover Diablo educational outings program, we have added rock climbing, mountain biking, and bilingual hikes this year so as to invite more outdoor user groups, different peoples and ethnic groups in to be educated about conservation and join our conservation team. Nature needs us all now!
Bring a mask, snacks, water, a well-functioning mountain bike, and your bike helmet.
