Diablo Restoration Team Workday at Marsh Creek 7

**Due to the nature of this workday, this event is for adults 18yo and up.

Please read about the type of work we will be doing: We are installing a 500ft long hog wire cattle exclusion fence down a steep bank, across Marsh Creek, and up the other side. The purpose is to protect the creek from the cattle while they graze the property for a few months. We need a few volunteers that are comfortable working in hot weather, on hillsides among shrubs, using post pounders to drive t-posts into the ground, as well as pulling the fence material taught and attaching fence post clips. If this sounds like a fun time to you, please sign up to join us! We only need help from four volunteers to join our two staff. We have set aside four hours to complete this work, but will end the day early if the heat gets excessive or we are done.

Participants will be notified in the event of cancellation due to extreme weather conditions. An AQI of 150 or above automatically cancels the workday.

Meet: Marsh Creek 7 – 16000 Marsh Creek Rd, Clayton, CA 94517

The property is located at a private road. Volunteers will be greeted by a staff member at our neighbor’s electric gate and will be given access to continue down the road to our property.

What to Bring: Water and snacks, sturdy shoes, comfy work clothes with long sleeves and pants and layers, sun protection (i.e. hat, sunscreen), face covering, and work gloves if you have them (we also have extras).
