Curry Canyon Ranch Water Crew

Enjoy the beauty of Mount Diablo’s foothills as we fight impacts of climate change by protecting tree seedlings around Curry Canyon Ranch that will eventually replace the heritage oaks we see around the property today. So far we’ve protected over 400 tree seedlings around the valley! In order to help increase survival rates, we water each seedling each month. Watering is the vital next step to this restoration project and we need your help!

Please note: Watering involves walking on uneven and sloped terrain while holding 1-3 gallon jugs of water to nourish seedlings.

Participants will be notified in the event of cancellation due to extreme weather conditions. An AQI of 150 or above automatically cancels the workday.

Meet: Curry Canyon Ranch – address and directions will be provided after registration a few days before the scheduled event.

What to Bring: Water bottle, sturdy shoes, comfy long work pants, sun protection (i.e. hat, sunscreen), face covering, and work gloves if you have them. Please be prepared to walk through tall grass.

We are also looking for more watering jugs: if you have empty and clean 1-3 gallon milk jugs, detergent bottles, or cat litter bottles, we will happily take them!

***Our Policy on Volunteers under the Age of 18

As we continue to strive to bridge the gap between youth and nature, we encourage families and youth groups to participate in our stewardship workdays. We have outlined our policy on volunteers under the age of 18 in order to create the best environment for everyone involved. Please note, our stewardship workdays are not drop-off programs. Parents and chaperones should also sign up for the event so we can have an accurate count of all volunteers.

Young volunteers under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. In addition, they should meet one of the following requirements before participating on our stewardship workdays:

• Be accompanied by their adult guardian/parent/chaperone throughout the duration of the workday
• Be a part of a recognized organization (such as a school group, youth group, etc.) with their authorized chaperone/teacher/leader present at the workday
