Victory: California’s Proposition 4 has passed! Prop. 4, the $10 billion climate bond, is incredibly important for Save Mount Diablo and our work.
Numerous acres in the Diablo Range will get protected. Even more acres all over California will be protected, getting us much closer to protecting 30 percent of the state by 2030.
Regardless of what happens at the federal level, California—the fourth largest economy in the world—will continue to lead in addressing the climate and biodiversity crises.
Prop. 4 is the biggest voter approved climate investment ever. The decline of fossil fuels and rapid progress on alternative energy is unstoppable.
Updates: San Benito Measure A and Dublin Measure II
We’re waiting for the next update on votes in California, and we’re cautiously optimistic.
Protect San Benito’s San Benito County growth control Measure A, of which Save Mount Diablo is a leading sponsor, is winning so far.
Dublin’s Measure II looks like it may pass, but so far, only 30 percent of the likely vote is in. If Measure II does pass, we have already filed a lawsuit to challenge the city and developer’s plans, which would destroy some of the last open space between Dublin and Livermore.
