Come out and help steward Mount Diablo!
This event is in partnership with the Bay Area Climbers Coalition, American Alpine Club, Mount Diablo State Park, East Bay Regional Park District, and Mount Diablo Trails Alliance. This project will be led by Mount Diablo Trails Alliance leaders.
SATURDAY project: Trail work along Little Yosemite Trail in Mount Diablo State Park.
Project Goals:
· Learn and use proven techniques to maintain and enhance the trails, focusing on safety, preservation and access
· Help Mount Diablo Trails Alliance build its Shared Stewardship model with California State Parks

10:00 AM – 10:10AM – Safety and Project Goals Discussions
10:10 AM – 10:20 AM – Crew Assignments and Roll Out to Work Zones
10:20 AM – 3:00 PM – Conduct Trail Work
Getting to the Dig Day Staging Area
Park at the Macedo Staging Area for Mount Diablo State Park.
Do not pay at the self-pay kiosk. Instead, place a print-out of this email on your front dashboard near the driver’s side for free vehicle admission.
Hike up Wall Point Rd. At the first trail fork, do not turn right. Instead, continue hiking straight up the trail and over to the Little Yosemite Trail, which is where the Dig Day staging area will be (See bullseye in map screenshot below).
What to Bring: Water bottle and snacks. Sturdy closed-toed shoes, comfy work clothes with long sleeves and long pants, eye protection.
Registration ends the day before the event at 5pm, but do not worry if eventbrite registration has closed.
On-site, day-of registration is available at the Castle Rock and Little Yosemite trailheads on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
