Meet Tabitha and Patrick

How long have you lived in the Bay Area?

Patrick has lived in the Bay Area his entire life and Tabitha for most of her life. We have grown up riding and hiking the hills of Lime Ridge, Mitchell Canyon, and Castle Rock.

How did you learn about Save Mount Diablo?

We have heard about Save Mount Diablo over the years, and knew people who both volunteered and worked for Save Mount Diablo. And then both Sean and Frenchy helped us get started with volunteering!

When did you start volunteering with us, and why did you get involved?

We have been volunteering for a year now. We have always appreciated the work of Save Mount Diablo.

A few years ago, we moved out to Curry Canyon, and it was the perfect opportunity for us to start our Save Mount Diablo volunteer journey.

Which Save Mount Diablo programs are you involved in?

Curry Canyon Ranch watering project.

What do you enjoy about the volunteer work you do?

What don’t we enjoy about the volunteer work we do! We feel grateful for being able to be a part of the amazing work Save Mount Diablo does.

We love the nature and wildlife we get to experience, and really enjoy learning more about the native species that call the Diablo Range home.

What is the most challenging project you’ve worked on as a Save Mount Diablo volunteer?

So far, the volunteer work we have done has been nothing but enjoyable. However, we are looking forward to participating in some more challenging projects.

Is there a memorable experience you’ve had as a Save Mount Diablo volunteer?

I think the most memorable part for us so far has just been the experience altogether. Every time we go out to water, we say to ourselves: This is so cool!

How do you spend your time beyond your volunteer work with us, or what did you do before you started volunteering with us?

We spend as much time as we can enjoying the outdoors, whether it is at home with our animals, or out camping and hiking. We also love to mountain bike when we can find the time.

Join us to save the remaining natural lands of Mount Diablo!
