Mangini Ranch, purchased by Save Mount Diablo from the Mangini family in 2007, is a little 206-acre gem in the Diablo foothills. Two of the features that make it unique are plants. Mangini is home to the northern-most stand of desert olives (Forestiera pubescens) and to the rare and endangered Hospital Canyon larkspur (Delphinium californium ssp. interius).
Be sure to bring plenty of water, a snack, and dress in layers. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended. Heavy rain cancels.
Due to COVID-19, we are limiting the hike to 8 participants. All participants must bring a mask and stay 6ft apart. Hand sanitizer will be available at the hike.
Participants will also be required to accept our COVID-19 Protocol (available during registration).
