Mangini Ranch Wildflower Hike

April 25, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

All Discover Diablo hikes are subject to, and will honor, all applicable COVID-19–related restrictions in place for our area.

About this Event

Mangini Ranch, purchased by Save Mount Diablo from the Mangini family in 2007, is a little 206-acre gem in the Diablo foothills. Two of the features that make it unique are plants. Mangini is home to the northern-most stand of desert olives (Forestiera pubescens) and to the rare and endangered Hospital Canyon larkspur (Delphinium californium ssp. interius). The larkspur will be blooming when we take our hike. With some luck, and lots of rain, we may see a little swale carpeted with wildflowers.

Be sure to bring plenty of water, a snack, and dress in layers. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended. Heavy rain cancels.

Due to COVID-19, we are limiting the hike to 8 participants. All participants must bring a mask and stay 6ft apart. Hand sanitizer will be available at the hike.

Participants will also be required to accept our COVID-19 Protocol (available during registration).
