Eagle Scout Projects

Eagle Scouts standing in front of their bench

Save Mount Diablo takes on a few Eagle Scout volunteer projects per calendar year, depending on our current needs.

Aspiring Eagle Scouts seeking to earn their merit badges in environmental science, sustainability, hiking, citizenship in the community, or other conservation-related areas through the completion of volunteer service hours are invited to contact Save Mount Diablo to inquire about potential volunteer projects, current staff availability, and other pertinent information needed.

Previous completed projects include: picnic tables, benches, a pedestrian bridge, a gate, and a shade structure for water filtration system. All projects are identified on an as needed basis.

How to Apply

Send us a brief note introducing yourself, why you are interested in volunteering with Save Mount Diablo, specific goals your project needs to fulfill in particular (if any), and your current contact information.*

(*Put “Eagle Scout Project Inquiry” as the subject line—it will help us get back to you faster.)

Please give us a few days to get back to you. Although we do try to respond to every inquiry, we are a small staff. Our land stewardship team is often out in the field several days a week, especially during spring and summer seasons, and may not be checking emails daily.

If you haven’t heard back from us within a week, feel free to give our office a call at 925-947-3535 to speak with our office manager.

Join us to save the remaining natural lands of Mount Diablo!
