Description California Coastal Cleanup Day is California’s largest annual volunteer event, where we care for our local bodies of water to prevent trash from ending up in the ocean. It takes place every third Saturday in September across the state. Save Mount Diablo participates in this annual event by cleaning up Thomas Kirker Creek in Pittsburg. Every year we remove over 100 lbs of debris from this 10-acre property (oftentimes the number surpasses 200 lbs), which consists of both trash, and invasive plants.
