East Bay residents Robert Doyle, Beverly Lane, and Ayn Wieskamp each leave unique and lasting legacies in helping to create environmental policies and lifting the voices from the community for conservation interests. They have been exemplary leaders for environmental causes for over five decades and exceptional partners to furthering the mission of Save Mount Diablo to create a sustainable footprint to tie communities together through open spaces, trails, resource protection, and habitat conservation corridors.

We will celebrate Bob, a founding member of Save Mount Diablo and recent General Manager of East Bay Regional Park District, along with Beverly and Ayn, both longtime local Mayors and recently retired elected Board members serving the East Bay Regional Park District. We will also unveil a new documentary by filmmaker Joan Hamilton, “The Long Game—How Robert Doyle Shaped the East Bay.”

Please register soon as space is limited. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

“THE LONG GAME: HOW ROBERT DOYLE SHAPED THE EAST BAY”—Robert Doyle has been part of Save Mount Diablo’s powerhouse since he became a founding director at age 19—but he’s best known for his work at the East Bay Regional Park District, where he started out wielding rakes, shovels, and chainsaws, and ended up raising a billion dollars and doubling the district’s size. With clever strategies and dedicated partners, he made the district the largest local park agency in the country, and helped keep the East Bay from becoming a sprawling Los Angeles.

Funding for this event is provided by Save Mount Diablo. We wish to thank the Regional Parks Foundation for their generous sponsorship of The Long Game documentary.
