A 2020 edition of Yale Environment 360, a leading online magazine about global environmental issues, reported that, “A growing body of research points to the beneficial effects that exposure to the natural world has on health, reducing stress and promoting healing.
“Now, policymakers, employers, and healthcare providers are increasingly considering the human need for nature in how they plan and operate.”
Understanding that nature is the ultimate foundation for people’s long-term health and well-being, which is especially important during a crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic, Save Mount Diablo developed a free public education series of online presentations.
The series helps people benefit from nature as a critical part of the solution to working through these difficult times.
It started in April 2020. Save Mount Diablo has delivered numerous presentations by an amazing and diverse group of experts:
- ecotherapists;
- conservationists sharing inspiring aspects of nature to encourage people to get outside;
- one of the world’s leading authorities on the cross-cultural tradition of sacred mountains;
- climate change experts;
- the San Francisco Bay Area’s leading natural landscape photographer with his nature images that inspire;
- a personal trainer who uses nature to help his clients get stronger and heal;
- and so on.
