Contra Costa County Urban Limit Line Renewed
Measure A passed in Contra Costa County on June 2, 2026, and renewed the county Urban Limit Line. Thank you to everyone who voted in support!
We won a 70 percent Yes on A landslide victory to renew Contra Costa County’s Urban Limit Line! A big thank you to everyone who voted yes, spread the word, and supported the campaign.
Save Mount Diablo led this effort to make sure that this past June 2 election resulted in a clear and resounding victory for open space, wildlife habitat, and good land use planning.
Contra Costa County will also continue to receive transportation return to source funds because it has kept its Urban Limit Line.
Residents, developers, and decision makers throughout Contra Costa should get from this landslide win a clear message.
That message is: development beyond the urban fringe, in dangerous fire-prone areas and far from job and transportation centers and other services, is not what residents want.
We want sensible development focused in areas that will mean less car dependence, less traffic, less carbon pollution, less wildfire risk, and more affordable housing closer to where people work and transit.
